It’s been a big week here at Mei Mei HQ.
First off, our sweet potato dumplings appeared in Boston Magazine’s awesome Asian Food winter dining special. Didn’t they turn out beautifully?
Wer’re continually impressed by the photography and food styling in Boston Mag, having gotten to watch them make their magic during the pork bun photo shoot. It’s a huge honor to be included with all the great restaurants in the dumpling guide – don’t they all look great pictured together? Doesn’t it make you HUNGRY FOR DUMPLINGS RIGHT NOW!?!?
Speaking of really exciting things, one of our food heroes dropped by the truck this week: Mr. Yotam Ottolenghi. We’re GINORMOUS fans of his cookbooks and Mei in particular spent a lot of time lusting after his amazing cafes and restaurant in London, so it was a huge honor when he came by for a Double Awesome and Maple ham special.
Alex is so psyched. We also made him eat some soup and a kale salad. It was pretty exciting just to feed him (yeah, give us a break, this is what happens when the author of your FAVORITE cookbook stops by) and so it was basically mindblowing when he tweeted us how much he liked the food.
GAHHHHHHH! So. freaking. amazing. Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind words, we hope to feed you again Yotam!
Although that made for a pretty HUGE day, we have even bigger news in store. The rumors are true….we just signed a lease on a brick & mortar restaurant! Yup, it’s true. We are expanding into our own space and we couldn’t be more excited. And nervous. More details to come, so stick around…
